Reading+

 Today in reading we did reading plus and this is what i think went well and what I think I can do next time and this is what I think i need to work on

Milk Plastic

 Aim: I want to find out how to make Milk plastic

Method:

Equipment:

  • Milk 
  • Microwave
  • Vinegar 
  • Paper towels 
  • Spoon    
  • Mug
  • Messing spoon  
  • Pot

Instructions:

  1. Get the equipment needed.
  2. put one cup of milk in the pot or microwave.
  3. heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove until its steaming. '
  4. add 4 teaspoons of vinegar
  5. add the milk into the cup with the vinegar
  6. stir the mixture with a spoon
  7. stack 4 layers of paper towels on a surface that is safe to get damp
  8. scoop out of the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towels
  9. fold the paper towels over the curd and press down to absorb to the exudes liquid
  10. colour, shape and mold the dough as you like.
  11. put all your creations on paper towels and let them dry over night.

Questions

-What is casein: The main protein present in milk and (in coagulated form) in cheese. It is used in processed foods and in adhesives, paints, and other industrial products.

-What is casein used for? Casein is a slow-digesting dairy protein that people often take as a supplement. It releases amino acids slowly, so people often take it before bed to help with recovery and reduce muscle breakdown while they sleep. Several studies have shown it helps boost muscle growth, along with a ton of other benefits.

Safety in the Lab

Rules 

  1. You much follow the instructions given by the teacher.
  2. You much not enter the lab with the teacher.
  3. Report any breakages.
  4. Shoes must be worn at all times.
  5. Do not eat or drink in the lab.
  6. If you spill something tell the teacher then clean it up.
  7. Wash your hands after doing anything experiments. 
  8.  A heatproof mat should all ways be used when heating.
  9. If you doubt, ask the teacher.
  10. Never touch or smell chemicals. 
1. Liquids do not go into the bins, because the bin will leak
2. Solids do not go down the sink because it will block the sink.
3. Wear safety glasses when you do experiments,
because because it can hurt your eyes.
4. Put your chair under the desk, and stand at the bench
when you do experiments, because you could trip over and hurt yourself.
5. Bags do not go on the desks, because you can hit something off the desk.
6. Long hair should be tied back, because it can get count on something.
7. Do not smell the chemicals, because it bad for you.  
8. Walk, don’t run around the room, because you can hurt yourself.
9. Do not eat or drink in the lab, because something could happens to the room can get on your food 
  1. There is a bag on the table. 
  2. They are standing on the seat.
  3. They are left the fire on.
  4. They are playing around 
  5. they are pushing each other around 
  6. they have left everything on the table 
  7. There is no teacher they did put the lid on 
  8. they didn't right the rules down  

Gummy Bear Osmosis

 Aim: I want to find out what will happen to Gummy  Bears when they are left in all different kind of  liquids.

Method: 

Equipment:

  • Gummy Bears 
  • liquids-water,salt water,sugar water 
  • Electronic scale 
  • Petri Dishes 
  • Marker pen
Instructions:
  1. Get all your Equipment that you will need to use
  2. get you petri and right your name,condition,on each Petri Dishes 
  3. Then turn on the you scale and weigh your Gummy Bear  
  4. Then add the liquids

Edible Slime

 Aim: I want to find out how to make edible slime.

  • Icing suger 
  • Marshmallows  
  • Cups 
  • Popsicle stick  
  • microwave 
  • Oil 

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instruction:

  1. Get equipment ready  
  2. Melt your  Marshmallows in a bowl  
  3. add icing suger 
  4. mix icing suger and Marshmallows together 
  5. wait 10 min for it to cool down 
  6. mix in more icing suger with your hands 
  7. add oil if needed

Results:


The slime felt sticky and it was fluffy

Skittle Colours

 Aim: I want to find out what happens when you put skittle in water.

Method: 

Equipment

  • Petri Dish  
  • Skittle 
  • Warm water]
  • Small beaker  

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instructions:
    1. Get Equipment
    2. Spread out the skittles around the edge 
    3. Gently pour the water into the middle of the petri Dish

Results:

Discussion: Why did the colour leave the skittle? Because the suger coding dissolved in the water 

Why did the colours not mixing?
Because the colours have a barear so they dont mix.

We had to do this and we had to do one of them every time we have to do reading  this is what it the reading plus looks like. This sis what we have to do for reading we have to do six reading a week and we have to do 5 vocabulary but i have done 5 reading

P.E

What is Hockey? Hockey is a kind of sport that you play you have to use a hockey stick and a hockey ball this is what it looks like.










I learnt that you have to keep the ball has to stay on the ground so then you dont get hurt. You also have keep your stick on the ground because you dont want to hurt others.

Scientific Equipment

Beaker: A beaker is made for carrying around liquids without getting it all on the ground.

Bunsen burner: A Bunsen burner is made to make a fire out of gas.







Gauze mat: A gauze mat is made to sport container such as a beaker 





Funnel: A funnel is to help a liquid of some sort into a smaller container.







Test tube: A test tube is to hold some liquids for testing 









Conical flask: A Canonical flask is for mesmerising  and holding all liquids.








Spatula: A spatula is used for scraping off thing that are stuck to a sunface.






Measurina Cylinder: A measuring cylinder is for measuring liquids.











Scissor tongs: scissor tongs are to hold a container that is hot.








Tripod: A tripod is to hold a container well it melts over the Bunsen burner.







Test Tube Tongs: Is for holding and used for lifting stuff.
